Since then, the Lord has paired us with Camino Global, an excellent missions organization with a focus on making disciples globally through Spanish speakers. Camino Global was seeking a couple/family to come along side the Honduran church to help support and encourage church leaders and pastors, use creative evangelism to reach out to the Garifuna to make disciples among them, and to help establish an intercultural training center. Our Story
In the summer of 2009 our calling to world missions full-time was confirmed. Sensing a call to a Spanish speaking country, Corey took a vision trip to Central America in October 2009. After his trip, we decided as a family to go and experience the people and surroundings of Honduras in December 2009 (Christmas Day to be exact!). We spent nearly two weeks in the mountains and jungle serving alongside our fellow missionary friends. Taking photos and video, repairing computers, preparing meals for nearly 100 teens, washing, cleaning, hacking, chopping, digging... we were exhausted at the end of our trip. But it was very fulfilling and we knew then that the Lord was calling us to serve Spanish speakers in Honduras. While searching ministries in Honduras, several opportunities came up to serve the Garifuna people group, a people of African decent living primarily in the northern coast of Honduras.
