Important Prayer Requests for Weekend

PLEASE PRAY FOR US! Beginning bright and early Friday morning (tomorrow!) we will be headed to the north coast of Honduras once again to further explore two Garifuna communities: Tornabé and Triunfo de la Cruz. We are traveling with one other missionary family and a guy from our team to spend 4 days around these communities which are situated on either side of the popular beach town of Tela. We plan to meet with a Garifuna leader and elder in Tornabé as well as meet up with representatives of Samaritan's Purse who have been working in these two communities through micro-business evangelism projects.

Please pray for:
  • Safety in travel: it is always dangerous traveling here, not only because of the way people drive and the horrible roads, but because of many police and military stops. We will be traveling in a 15 pass. white Chevy van which sticks out in the crowd. Pray for favor at the stops, awareness for our driver (the other family we are traveling with), and safety along the way. Pray for safety for the Samaritan's Purse representatives as well traveling on Monday from San Pedro Sula to meet us in Triunfo de la Cruz.
  • Favor with the community elder and leaders: along with the Garifuna leader and elder we will be introduced to leaders in the community of Triunfo de la Cruz. Pray for open and/or closed doors and clear direction.
  • Discernment and wisdom: where God might use us and to discern between what He desires for us and needs in the communities (or both!). Needs are endless, so discernment of where to be used is what we ask for.
  • A renewed and refreshed vision: the Garifuna have been on our hearts for years now and we know God is doing and will do a mighty work among them. Pray also we may be refreshed by seeing God's power and work to encourage us to press on to our calling here.
  • A renewed and refreshed family: we need time together as husband/wife and as a family to remember our calling. It is very easy to lose sight of it when you are not among the people God has called you to. Pray also for continued patience and knowledge that God is working.
Thank you for praying!

In His mighty grip,
Corey, Kirsten, Gavin & Garret
