Team ministry in Honduras

We are thrilled to be working this next week with the Reid Saunders Association and their team of 24 from the U.S., mainly out of Oregon. Today we met with RSA's Latin American coordinator here in Siguatepeque, Honduras, and to say the least we are excited. This week of ministry with the team will put a very nice "cap" and finale to our language school as we will be driving teams around for school visits and medical camps, translating at the camps, and helping out however we can. We look forward to how we will be able to serve together as a family!

Beginning Monday morning, we will head up to the airport to pick up the team. One thing we are really excited about is to see our friends Reid, his wife Carmen, and oldest son Azlan, along with a handful of others from around our hometown of Salem, OR. We've known Reid for nearly 10 years and have been blessed many times over to serve with him in ministry and with his family through our Sunday School and church, Salem Evangelical. I first met Reid at Corban University (when it was Western Baptist College) while working there. He had just started his ministry and he was meeting with mentors of his at the college. I would have never guessed that 10 years later we would have served together in various places around the world and would be welcoming him to Honduras to minister with him here!

One of the things we are both amazed at is how God expands his Kingdom on earth (...as it is in Heaven). He uses willing bodies to make a huge difference in the world! He qualifies the unqualified! Truly, we can attest to this fact. You don't have to have special skills to be used greatly for the Kingdom, just a willing heart! That is what we want to always keep in perspective... despite cultural differences, denominational divides, languages, skin color, etc, etc, one thing that stands out above all else in the Kingdom of God, that the Creator of the universe wants to use any and every person in the world to bring glory to Himself. He deserves it! We thank the Lord we are able to serve Him with RSA, and more than that, with very good friends. We are blessed.

Please pray for the RSA team and us as we go into communities around Siguatepeque this coming week and share the Gospel through medical clinics, school visits, BMX and skate demos, and next weekend through a two day festival in the middle of downtown. Pray for opportunities to share the hope we have, for protection as we drive around, and for good weather to do so (it's rainy season here). Thank you for praying!
