Leaving for Honduras!

Tonight we leave for Honduras at 11:59 pm. Nice RED-EYE flight, but at least the boys will sleep :) We will be there just over 2 weeks returning on Sept. 30.

We are excited in many ways about this trip. Here is a general outline of our schedule:
  • First 5 days: stay at seminary campus in Siguatepeque, fellowship with the rest of the team, see the local town and market, minister and serve in nearby villages, and help out on the campus in whatever ways we can be used.
  • Next 5 days: travel to the north coast of Honduras and stay near La Ceiba (pray we will be able to stay at the mission hospital there and use their "missions home" as this will lower our in country costs as well as be able to experience life at the missions hospital). During these days we plan to meet church leaders who have been working in and around La Ceiba and share our vision, plan with them and fellowship. We also plan to visit the Garifuna people who live primarily on the beaches.
  • Next 2-3 days: we will return to the seminary campus and along the way picking up the director of mobilization and field ministries director of CAM International's home office from Dallas, TX. It's exciting for us to be able to plan with them and the rest of our team for these few days and share the ministry vision with the home office.
  • Final 3 days: as a group (main team and home office staff) we will travel to Tela to have a time of fellowship, planning and refueling. We look forward to this time as well as we will be able to bond in a more personal way with our team members.
Please pray about this schedule, for travel safety, for the Holy Spirit to go before us, for us to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading and to act in obedience on that leading. Pray for those God has already planned to cross our path to share the Gospel with and to share God's love with, both in words and actions of service. We will be updating this blog periodically throughout our trip.
