Training, training, training...

Well last night marked the end of the 15 week Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course I (Corey) have been taking up in Tigard. I am happy to be done with this and happy to be done with the weekly homework. But in a way I am sad it is over. I have learned SO MUCH from this course. As part of the course work, I wrote a 10 page report on reaching an unreached people group. Of course, I chose the Garifuna people, the people group we will be with in Honduras. It was very eye opening. Most of all, it was a lot of ground work and research done that we will not have to do later. It will give us a spring board to launch from into our ministry there to them. As is any training, it is a good, solid foundation built on biblical truths, centuries of experience (literally), and new insight gained from missionaries that gives us something to build on that will last.

So the homework is over for now. But, Lord willing, in just 5 more weeks we will start training as a family at the Center for Intercultural Training (CIT) in North Carolina. The classes are scheduled to begin June 6, and we are REGISTERED! This is a huge step of faith as we need to be at least 75% funded for our monthly support before we attend this training. We are currently just over 50%, but we have a God who can do this! If it is God's will that we are not at 75% by this time, we will wait until the first week of September when the next round of training begins. Pray with us that the Lord of the harvest would send us sooner than later! But ultimately pray that HIS will is done. And if God is leading you to be a part of this ministry, you can contribute a monthly gift to get us closer to our short term goal! Click here to give online or visit our Support page for other options. We're currently at 57% of our monthly support. Praise God and thank you!
