Post-Training & Travels

Our family at CIT for the past 11 weeks.
After 11 amazing weeks in Union Mills, NC at the Center for Intercultural Training (CIT), we have arrived back in Oregon to prepare ourselves to leave for Honduras in the coming months. This training has been invaluable (read previous blog post about what we learned) and we will be able to put it to work right away in Honduras as we begin learning the languages, culture, and how to integrate our family into ministry there.

Some fun we had with a Phineas & Ferb birthday party.
During our time at CIT, we wrote a research paper on Honduras and the Garifuna people. This project has helped us to understand the Honduran and Garifuna people on a deeper level and has stirred our hearts on a more intimate level for them. They so desperately need the Good News of Jesus and something to hope in. And we all know it is not a temporal hope, but one that can transform lives both here and in the life to come. We are so thankful for these past months of training and to the Lord for deepening our love for the people He has called us to and deepening our understanding of them.

The Lord blessed us with great weather for the drive home.

A question we keep hearing is, "when do you plan on leaving?" This is a great question, and one we wish we knew the exact answer to! But part of this journey to full-time missions abroad is that of trusting deeply on the Lord to provide ALL that we need. We rely on Him to draw others to this ministry to be senders, prayer warriors and to encourage us.
We need to be at 100% of our monthly and one-time support in order to be released to the field.

We are currently at 71% of our monthly support and 52% of our one-time support to move our family and belongings and to get setup in Honduras. Please pray that the remainder of our support would be raised as the Lord wills. If you are not already a financial partner, please ask the Lord if He would have you be a part of our team. If you are not able to partner with us on a monthly basis, please consider giving a year-end gift. Also if your church may be willing to partner with us in some way please let us know. Email cwells@caminternational.org if you have any questions or prayer request... we want to pray for you too!

And lastly, during this season we just want to emphasize our thankfulness to you for giving sacrificially, for praying when prompted, and for being there with a supporting word or helping hand just when we needed it. We truly appreciate your encouragement and blessings. We would not be going to Honduras were it not for your partnership, so thank you so very much for what you are doing for the Kingdom!
